Experience the excitement of The Venturas at Swing Time!
Fronted by hot new lead singer, Ally, each time they've played Swing Time,
the band has put on a smash performance for a huge audience of fans.
And each time they've played, people have remarked that it's been
an incredible night of dancing, music, and all-around fun!
Now in their third incarnation as a band, The Venturas are the group most responsible for starting and cultivating Tampa Bay's swing scene. A favorite of Bay-area swingsters, the band has also made a big impression on the Florida music scene, receiving rave reviews from press & fans alike, playing for tens of thousands of people, winning Best Band awards, and recording four CDs!
The Venturas bring to Swing Time a versatile mix of swing styles from the 1920's through today. Their swing repertoire includes jazz, jump blues, jive, sultry blues, surf, and classic rhythm & blues / rock & roll songs, covering everything from Ella Fitzgerald & Benny Goodman to Ruth Brown & Chuck Berry!
Veteran band members, John Paul Coley on Bass, Greg Poulos on Guitar, and Art Siegel on Drums, are seasoned professionals who form the core of the Venturas. In fact, they've been with the band as far back as 1996; back then, when it all started, the band was known as Dan Electro & the Silvertones, and they traveled all over, showing all the cats & chicks in FLA how to jump & swing the blues! In 2001 (after Dan moved to Spain), the band became an even hotter item, playing four highly successful years as Jennifer & the Venturas! In March 2005, the band bid a fond farewell to Jennifer, as she departed for California. Fast forward to today, and the latest & greatest incarnation of the band -- now known as The Venturas -- boasts a talented fourth instrumentalist, Eddy Tobin on Piano, plus incredible new Lead Singer, Ally Couch! Join the excitement! Be sure to catch The Venturas at Swing Time. You'll be glad you did!
