SWING TIME INSTRUCTORS Swing Time brings an innovative and easy-to-learn approach to all levels & styles of swing -- the same teaching approach that has made our intro classes the most popular in the state! We instill the fun, energy, excitement, and magic of dancing in every class we teach and in every event we produce. In addition to teaching people to dance, Swing Time's classes also emphasize social interaction and, most importantly, having fun! Whether you're dancing at a Swing Time event, or at a dance or club or party or concert... anywhere there's music, we want you to be able to dance to it. And we want your partner(s) to love dancing with you! The better your dancing, the more & more people will ask you to dance! Swing Time promotes a fun & friendly atmosphere at both our classes and our events. Our instructors break seemingly complex dance moves and dance principles into easy-to-digest pieces that you can easily learn. Our approach is based on years of dancing and teaching experience, it's innovative, and it works! Instructor Bio: Sam has 20 years of partner-dance experience, ranging from Swing to Waltz to Contra to Zydeco! He's been organizing dances since 1997 and actively teaching swing dance since 1999. Sam's an innovator who's been instrumental in starting and building Tampa Bay's swing scene from scratch. He's taught tens of thousands to dance over the last decade, at hundreds of swing dances, special events, festivals, and dance classes. He's skilled in breaking down dances and their moves into segments and exercises that every student can easily digest. While Sam skillfully teaches the technical aspects of dance, he more importantly teaches students to have fun dancing and to enjoy the music, the movement, and the interaction with a partner. Sam has been instructing for Swing Time since the beginning, nine years now! Instructor Bio: Carleene has been dancing since she was in single digits. From tap, to swing, to the Moonwalk and the Hand Jive, she's done it all! A veteran of the Washington D.C. Lindy Hop scene, she gained notoriety for joining every Lindy Hop dance team in the metro D.C. area! Upon arrival in Tampa Bay earlier this year, she brought her dance team mania to Swing Time! Carleene believes that dancing should be fun and creative, and it should happen a lot... preferably all the time! At times she's spent every waking moment dancing (or thinking about it), which earned her the nickname, CJ the Dance Monster. Carleene is an excellent coach and is fun to work with, having honed her coaching skills as a Drill Sergeant in the U.S. Army. But seriously, she had to leave the military and take up dancing, after being caught smiling all the time during camouflage operations. Carleene believes in letting the dancing fly, and she wants to help other dancers soar to new heights! Carleene has been instructing for Swing Time since 2009. Swing Time's instructors teach the most popular and well-attended swing-dance classes in the state of Florida! They also produce the biggest swing events in the state, and have been doing so for the last nine years. Whether it's a group class or a private lesson, Swing Time provides an innovative and easy-to-learn approach.
